A Comparative Study of AI Technology Application in Coverage of Major International Sports Events by Chinese and American Mainstream Media: A Case Study of the Olympic Games
Abstract
can effectively provide comprehensive and multi-dimensional precise analysis of athletes performances. Through AI systems, dynamic details
changing in real-time on the field can be captured simultaneously, offering insights that surpass human limitations for professional evaluation,
while also constructing a global view of the event through big data aggregation capabilities. Therefore, both domestic and international entities are actively introducing AI to facilitate sports event communication. Among them, mainstream media in China and the United States have
adopted different approaches in integrating AI with event communication. American mainstream media tend to use AI as an application tool
to enhance user engagement, while Chinese media embed AI into their communication systems, striving to build intelligent broadcasting platforms. This also profoundly reflects the differentiated orientations of their respective media ecosystems and industrial logics.
