Structural Optimization and Performance Study of the Reactor for SF6 Synthesis
Abstract
gas, inadequate contact between molten sulfur and fluorine gas, short reactant residence time, and low product purity, a novel production
apparatus for SF6 gas is developed in this work. A gas‑guide assembly composed of flow‑guide blocks, gas‑flow dispersion blocks and connecting ferrule is mounted at the gas‑inlet end. Conical flow channels and multi‑outlet structures are adopted to realize uniform multi‑channel
diffusion of fluorine gas. Inside the reactor vessel, staggered inclined baffles and flow holes with gradually‑varying apertures are arranged to
extend the gas-liquid reaction path. Circulating cooling water is fed into the vessel sandwich-layer to dissipate heat released by the exothermic
reaction. Structural optimization of the apparatus significantly enhances the contact efficiency between fluorine gas and molten sulfur, extends
reaction duration, and improves the quality of finished SF6 products. This study provides a design reference for the retrofitting of industrial
SF6 synthesis equipment.
