Exploration of Decarbonization Pathways for the Shipping Industry Under the "Dual Carbon" Background: A Multidimensional Analysis Based on Policy, Technology, and Market

Chunhui Li

Abstract

Against the dual backdrop of accelerating global climate change governance and the deepening implementation of China's "dual
carbon" goals, the shipping industry, as the artery of global trade, is facing a historic test of comprehensive transformation toward "green
shipping." The decarbonization and emission reduction of the shipping industry has become a key link in achieving global carbon neutrality. This paper systematically reviews the complex situation and core challenges faced by shipping decarbonization, constructs an analytical
framework for shipping decarbonization pathways from the three dimensions of policy and regulations, ship energy efficiency technology,
and market mechanisms, and proposes a synergistic advancement logic of "policy as the guiding framework, technology as the core, and
enterprises as the foundation."
