The Impact of Population Aging on Household Carbon Emissions

Qianxin Zheng

Abstract

Under the background of deep aging, China s population structure has undergone dramatic changes. Aging, low birth rate and unmarried infertility have become the main trends of China s population structure change. Household carbon emissions are an essential part of
achieving the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. Therefore, in view of whether population aging will affect household carbon emissions, this paper conducts empirical analysis based on a micro perspective, and finally concludes that population aging will have an impact on
household carbon emissions.
