On Rhetorical Devices Translation Based on Skopos Theory: A Comparative Analysis of the Two Chinese Translations of Marrakech by George Orwell
Abstract

the Skopos Theory. Current Chinese studies on Marrakechs rhetorical devices often focus on appreciation or specific devices, with limited
comparative analysis between translations, especially from a Skopos Theory perspective. The Skopos Theory highlights the translations purpose and target readers response. The thesis aims to determine if adhering to this theory aids in translating stylistic devices. Through detailed
analysis, it finds that the Skopos, coherence, and fidelity principles guide the translation of rhetorical devices in Marrakech.
