Application of Audio Mixing Technology in Multichannel Recording

Jingyi Wang

Abstract

This paper explores the application and significance of audio mixing technology in multichannel recording. By analyzing key technologies such as spatial localization, surround sound effects, and dynamic range management, the paper illustrates the crucial role of mixing
in enhancing audio quality, improving immersion, and conveying details. Accurate spatial localization technology adjusts the volume and
frequency response of each channel to achieve precise placement of sound elements. Surround sound effects, on the other hand, create an immersive auditory experience through a full-range sound field construction. Dynamic range optimization ensures clarity and depth in the sound,
allowing multichannel recordings to maintain balance and expressiveness even in complex environments. In conclusion, audio mixing technology is the foundation of modern multichannel recording and has driven innovations in audio for industries such as film and gaming.
