The Application of Ethnography of Communication to the Analysis of Intelligent Voice Assistant -- Taking Siris Conversation with Users as an Example
Abstract
has gained importance. This article uses the Ethnography of Communication (EOC) method and the SPEAKING model to analyze communication between Siri and users. Through an analysis of actual conversations, the study reveals how communication patterns change in different
contexts and their impact on user experience. The findings show that Siris interactions reflect the roles and purposes of participants, with
diverse user goals shaping communication behavior. Additionally, Siris tone and emotional expression affect discourse meaning and user experience. This study enriches the application of EOC theory in human-computer interaction and offers insights for improving voice assistants
to enhance user experience.
