Abstract
Customs are more complicated compared to some external cultural contents like language. The politeness principle involves all
aspects of life. How to improve ones own quality and master the politeness principle is of crucial importance in intercultural communication.
Different countries and regions have great differences in their cultural customs from ours. Therefore, before engaging in intercultural communication, a full investigation into the other partys cultural customs should be conducted. During the process of communication, try ones
best to avoid doing or saying things that violate the other partys customs. Thus, the politeness principle is an issue worthy of attention by everyone. It is a necessary condition for a successful intercultural communication activity, and the application of the politeness principle plays an
