Research on Strategies to Enhance Water Resource Management Awareness Among Herders in Arid Regions

Zixuan Liu, Liqing Wang*

Abstract

Water scarcity in arid regions is a global challenge, threatening the production, livelihoods, and ecology of local herders. Enhancing
water resource management awareness is crucial for sustainable use and ecological security. This study analyzes the current state and factors
influencing herders awareness through field research, interviews, and questionnaires. Key factors such as education level, traditional customs,
and the policy environment are identified. The study recommends strengthening education, promoting water-saving technologies, and improving policies to ensure sustainable water use in arid regions.
