Analysis of Factors Influencing the Structure and Efficiency of Regional Education Fiscal Expenditure in Mainland China

Abstract

This study analyzes the current structure and efficiency of district-level educational fiscal expenditures. It examines the distribution
of expenditures across different educational stages and projects, revealing that primary education and personnel expenses dominate. The study
also compares expenditure structures across urban, rural, and suburban areas, highlighting disparities influenced by economic development
and population structure. Furthermore, it evaluates the efficiency of educational fiscal expenditures using data envelopment analysis (DEA),
identifying inefficiencies in resource allocation and management. The findings suggest that optimizing expenditure structures and improving
resource allocation efficiency are crucial for enhancing the effectiveness of educational fiscal expenditures.
