Technical Principles and Application Scenarios of Friction Nanogenerators Driving the Development of the Internet of Things

Yuepeng Huang

Abstract

The rapid growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) presents significant energy supply challenges. With the large-scale deployment of
small functional sensors, traditional batteries struggle to meet long-term, cost-effective energy demands. As an innovative energy harvesting
technology, triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) convert mechanical energy into electricity through the triboelectric effect and electrostatic
induction, offering advantages such as low cost, high efficiency, and miniaturization, providing a sustainable power solution for IoT devices.

Keywords

Frictional nanogenerator; TENG working mode; TENG application
