The Relationship Between Female Labor Force Participation and Economic Growth: A Comparative Analysis Based on Cross-National Data

Aowen Cao

Abstract

This paper analyzes the relationship between female labor force participation and economic growth through cross-national data comparison. The research finds significant regional differences in global female labor force participation rates, with the Middle East region having the
lowest rates, while Chinas rate is higher than the international average but shows a declining trend. The impact of female labor participation on
economic growth is primarily realized through three aspects: increased labor supply, human capital enhancement, and consumption stimulation.
Empirical analysis confirms a complex U-shaped relationship between the two, though this relationship is influenced by multiple factors.
