Approaches to Translating Metaphors of Za Wine Culture in Ethnic Sanjiao: A Cross-Cultural Perspective

Yuxin Gan, Liying Zhang

Abstract

The ethnic "Sanjiao" mixed wine culture carries the profound connotation and unique metaphorical expression system of the communication, exchange and integration of ethnic minorities in the southwest region. The "multi-grain mixed fermentation" metaphor is a metaphor for ethnic integration, the "door-blocking wine" custom contains a metaphor for social interaction, and the "mixed wine song" tradition
embodies a metaphor for spiritual culture. Based on the conceptual metaphor theory and cross-cultural translation theory, this paper analyzes
the cognitive basis, cultural characteristics and expression forms of the mixed wine cultural metaphor, and explores the translation strategy in
cross-cultural communication. The study shows that the translation of the mixed wine cultural metaphor needs to adopt a method that combines cultural transplantation with image reconstruction and functional compensation to achieve the effective communication of the national
cultural spirit.
