Measures to Prevent and Control Water in Geotechnical and Underground Engineering
Abstract
failure of projects. This paper systematically analyzes six major risks posed by groundwater to underground engineering: sudden surge
of static water pressure, seepage-induced piping, soil softening, failure of anchor bolt anchorage force, sudden outflow of confined water,
and dewatering settlement. To address these risks, the paper elaborates on a comprehensive prevention and control system, including scientifically determining waterproofing grades and design standards, optimizing water interception systems, enhancing soil reinforcement
techniques, implementing scientific dewatering strategies, refining construction detail management, and establishing monitoring and early
warning mechanisms. The research aims to provide technical support for underground space development, thereby achieving efficient utilization of urban spatial resources.
