A Study on the Third Way and China's Moderately Universal Welfare System

Zongyue Dou

Abstract

As a mainstream welfare ideology in the contemporary world, the Third Way holds significant research value. The moderately universal welfare system is a socialist welfare system with Chinese characteristics, which is based on China's national conditions and serves the
broad masses of the people. On the basis of analyzing the connotations of the two, this paper conducts an in-depth study of their characteristics. Through comparison, it is found that there are significant similarities between them in terms of implementation subjects, the relationship
between rights and obligations, and institutional concepts, which can provide reference for the development of China's welfare system.
