The Division of Labor in Urban Networks and Its Formation Mechanism from the Perspective of Manufacturing Value Chain Links: Based on the Guangdong-Guangxi Cooperation Context

Zhili Zhang, Fangbin Qin, Changyu Ning*

Abstract

Research on urban networks based on value chain division of labor is emerging as a hot topic in economic geography. Using social
network analysis methods applied to manufacturing enterprise network data, this study characterizes the urban network features of Guangdong
and Guangxi. By identifying the primary functions of micro-enterprises within cities, it measures the functional division of labor among node
cities and investigates the formation mechanisms of urban network specialization.

Keywords

Product value chain; Urban network; Functional division of labor; Guangdong; Guangxi
