Weiyu Wu

Abstract

This paper analyzes the evolving competency demands of the accounting industry and examines the misalignment in higher education's talent development across four dimensions: strategic goal-setting, curriculum design, faculty development, and practical training. By
proposing solutions through optimizing educational objectives, restructuring curricula, strengthening faculty development, and deepening
industry-academia collaboration, the study aims to bridge the gap between university accounting education and industry needs. The research
ultimately seeks to cultivate high-caliber, interdisciplinary accounting professionals and provide actionable insights for advancing accounting
education reform in academic institutions.
