Exploration of the Path of Labor Education in College Students' Career Development

Bei Wu, Feng Wang*, Deqi Yang

Abstract

As a pivotal component of the holistic "moral-intellectual-physical-esthetic-labor" education framework, labor education not
only cultivates students 'proper work ethics and professional dedication but also enhances vocational skills and career resilience through
hands-on practice. This approach effectively alleviates employment pressures and improves career planning quality. However, challenges
persist in aligning labor education with students' career development, including fragmented educational systems, cognitive biases, inade
quate practical training, and outdated evaluation mechanisms. Universities should implement systematic solutions across four dimensions:
curriculum integration, practical platforms, cultural ecosystem development, and assessment mechanisms. Key measures include deepen
ing classroom integration, creating tiered immersive labor experiences, fostering a campus culture that values practical work, and estab
lishing evaluation systems that align labor literacy with career progression. These initiatives aim to guide students in establishing sound
professional values through practice, honing essential competencies, and ultimately achieving a smooth transition from "campus individu
als" to "professionals."
