Landscape Remediation of a Historic Village Under Heritage Conservation Constraints: A Case Study of Jingping Ancient Village, Hunan Province, China
Abstract
National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit (7th batch, 2013). This paper examines the landscape remediation project within its statutory
protection zone, analysing how five strategieslane paving restoration, pond ecological rehabilitation, wharf stabilisation, village-entrance
vernacular planting, and farmland remediationsimultaneously protect the listed heritage structures and perpetuate the settlement's historic
spatial character. The findings show that a design philosophy centred on minimal intervention, ecological restoration, and place-based materials offers a transferable framework for living heritage environments.
