A Research Report on the Microeconomic Effects of the Integration of Cultural Performances and the Tourism Industry -- A Case Study of Lijiang, Yunnan Province

Zhenming Su

Abstract

This study explores the microeconomic effects of integrating cultural performances and tourism through a case study of Lijiang,
Yunnan Province. Based on field research and analysis, the paper examines the current situation, modes, and economic impacts of this integration. The research finds that the deep integration has significantly enhanced destination attractiveness and competitiveness, creating new
business models and employment opportunities. Large-scale performances such as Impression Lijiang and Lijiang Eternal Love have
extended tourist stays, increased consumption, and driven local industry development. The integration has promoted Naxi ethnic culture inheritance while achieving dual cultural and economic value enhancement. However, challenges include excessive cultural commercialization,
homogenized competition, and ecological pressures. This study provides theoretical references and practical lessons for other tourism destinations pursuing cultural-tourism integration.
