An Analysis of the Causes of Greenwashing Behaviors by Listed Companies
Abstract
However, a subset of these firms has resorted to "greenwashing"the strategic misrepresentation or exaggeration of their environmental credentials to cultivate a sustainable image and secure pecuniary gains. This article systematically examines the manifestations and motivations
of greenwashing among public corporations to elucidate the causes of this conduct.
