Research on the Optimization of Cost Management in Manufacturing Enterprises from a Value Chain Perspective
Abstract
Against the backdrop of rising factor costs and intensifying market competition, traditional cost management models centered on
production activities and ex post accounting have become increasingly inadequate to meet the development needs of manufacturing enterprises. Based on value chain theory, this paper analyzes the mechanisms of cost formation and transmission in manufacturing enterprises
from an overall firm-level perspective and systematically identifies the major problems in current cost management practices. The findings
indicate that manufacturing enterprises generally suffer from outdated cost management concepts, insufficient coordination within management systems, inadequate identification of cost drivers, and limited value chain coordination and information system support. In response
to these issues, this paper proposes corresponding optimization paths for cost management from a value chain perspective. The study concludes that value chainoriented cost management can facilitate the transformation from localized cost control to systematic optimization,
thereby providing useful insights for improving cost management efficiency and enhancing the long-term competitiveness of manufacturing enterprises.
