Effect of Academic Stress on Psychological Resilience in Junior High School Students: a Chain-Mediated Effect Model

Abstract


Objective: This paper aims to explore the influence of academic burden on psychological resilience in junior high school students, and to examine the chain mediation effect of family function and negative emotion. Method: A total of 400 students from four junior high schools in Dongying were selected as the research object, using the academic burden questionnaire, psychological resilience scale,
family function scale and negative emotion scale. Result: The correlation analysis showed significant correlation between academic stress,
family function, negative emotion and psychological resilience; the mediation effect showed that family function and negative emotion
had significant mediation between academic stress and psychological resilience, and the chain mediation of family function and negative
emotion. Conclusion: Academic stress can not only directly predict the psychological resilience level of junior high school students, but
also indirectly predict the psychological resilience level of junior high school students through the chain mediation of family function and
negative emotion.
