Comparison of the Effects of Mifepristone and Leuprorelin on Serum Sex Hormones and Menstrual Recovery in Patients with Endometriosis after Laparoscopic Surgery
Abstract
Methods: A total of 200 patients who underwent laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis and were treated in our hospital from June 2023 to
June 2024 were randomly divided into two groups using the random number table method, with 100 patients in each group. The control group
received leuprorelin treatment, while the observation group received mifepristone treatment. After 6 months of treatment, the serum sex hormone levels, menstrual recovery time, ovulation recovery time, and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: After
treatment, the levels of estradiol (E2), luteinizing hormone (LH), and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) in both groups were lower than those
before treatment, and the levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group. The menstrual recovery time and ovulation recovery time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P <
0.05). There were no statistically significant differences in the incidences of nausea, fatigue, rash, and pruritus between the two groups (P >
0.05). Conclusion: Compared with leuprorelin, mifepristone can better improve the serum sex hormone levels in patients after laparoscopic
surgery for endometriosis, is more conducive to promoting menstrual and ovulation recovery, and has good safety.
