The Value of Oral Health Behavior Intervention in the Treatment of patients with Periodontal Disease

Hongyan Xu, Peng Zhang*

Abstract

Objective: Oral health care behavior in the treatment of patients with periodontal disease and its clinical nursing effect.
Methods: A total of 95 patients with periodontal disease from April 2023 to April 2024 were selected as study samples and randomly divided into two groups. The control group (48 cases) was treated with conventional oral care, while the observation group (47 cases) was
treated with oral health care. The mastery of oral health knowledge, compliance of oral health behavior and recurrence rate of the two
groups were compared. Results: The mastery of oral health knowledge and compliance of oral health behavior in observation group were
significantly higher than those in control group (P < 0.05). The recurrence rate of periodontal disease in observation group was lower than
that in control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Oral health behavior intervention in patients with periodontal disease can improve their mastery of oral health knowledge and compliance with oral health behavior, and reduce the recurrence rate of periodontal disease, which has
significant clinical application value.
