Huanan Su, Yan Xiao*

Abstract

The current study intends to expose and analyze a needs-based analysis of the general situation of distance education in medical
English langauge education among contemporary Chinese medical university students. Eighty university students from a Chinese medical
university took part in the current research and they were asked to answer questionnaires that were purposefully designed. The results of the
current research have shown that there is a strong need of distance education in medical English langauge education among the students and a
severe lack of guidance for distance education from university teachers in universities. The research ultimately suggests that university teachers should also guide university students to meet the needs of selecting proper means of distance education in the medical English langauage
teaching periods sensibly and facilitate them to fully develop their own learning habits as possible as they can in their medical English langauge learning practice.
