Exploration of the Application of Levothyroxine in the Treatment of Hypothyroidism Combined with Hyperlipidemia

Abstract

Objective: To explore the application effect of levothyroxine in the treatment of hypothyroidism combined with hyperlipidemia.
Method: An experiment was conducted on patients with hypothyroidism combined with hyperlipidemia who were admitted to a hospital in
China from January 2020 to January 2022. 80 patients were randomly selected and treated with levothyroxine. The levels of free thyroxine,
serum free triiodothyronine, and total cholesterol exhibited by the patients before and after treatment were analyzed. Result: Through experimental exploration, the total cholesterol level of patients before receiving levothyroxine treatment was 2.23 0.52mmol/L, low-density lipoprotein level was 3.56 0.41mmol/L, and serum triglyceride level was 6.16 1.54mmol/L. After receiving treatment with levothyroxine, the
total cholesterol level of the patient was 4.82 1.07mmol/L, the low-density lipoprotein level was 2.72 0.28mmol/L, and the serum triglyceride level was 1.14 0.29mmol/L. After the end of treatment, the various parameter indicators of patients before and after receiving levothyroxine treatment were compared, with P<0.05. Conclusion: The application of levothyroxine in the treatment of hypothyroidism combined
with hyperlipidemia is extremely effective. It can not only reduce the blood lipid level of patients, but also effectively improve their thyroid
function indicators, with strong efficiency and safety.
