Guideline for the Management of Mixed ArterialVenous Leg Ulcers

Shouyu Wang*, Junwei Zong, Huan Wang, Zhe Zhang, Xingkai Wang

Abstract

Mixed arterialvenous leg ulcers (MAVLU) involve coexisting venous hypertension and arterial insufficiency, leading to complex
ischemiccongestive wounds with high misdiagnosis risk. This guideline summarizes a multidisciplinary approach using hemodynamic profiling to classify perfusion status and guide the principle "artery first, then vein." Safe compression, revascularization timing, moist wound care,
infection control, and rehabilitation are outlined. The recommendations aim to standardize MAVLU management and improve healing outcomes in clinical practice.
