Developing a Novel Immune Infiltration Associated Mitophagy Prediction Model for Obesity Using Bioinformatics Strategies

Wei Guan, Xiangtian Wang, Na Guo, Zhuoran Hao, Jianying Bai, Ye Fan*

Abstract

The genetic pathology of obesity remains inadequately understood, this study employed bioinformatics analyses to explore the potential role of mitophagy-associated genes in obesity and immune infiltration. Differentially expressed genes from GSE59034 dataset in Gene
Expression Omnibus database were overlapped with 1693 mitophagy genes from GeneCard database to obtain obesity-related mitophagy
genes. LASSO, Random Forest, Cytoscape Hubba and Cytoscape MCODE analyses were performed to obtain the obesity-related mitophagy
hub gene (key gene). Two hub genes were identified after further integrative analysis: TIGAR and CTPS1. Stratification by Genescore revealed significant differences in immune cell infiltration between High and Low Genescore groups. These results indicate that mitophagy may
facilitate obesity progression by activating immune infiltration.
