A Study on the Application Effect of Personalized Oral Care in the Treatment of Chronic Periodontitis
Abstract
ment effect on periodontal health indicators. Methods: Ninety-six patients with chronic periodontitis were randomly divided into a control
group and an observation group with 48 cases in each group. The control group received routine oral care, while the observation group
was given personalized oral care intervention on the basis of routine care. The gingival index (GI), periodontal probing depth (PD), plaque
index (PLI), sulcus bleeding index (SBI) and clinical attachment loss (AL) of the two groups were compared after 6 months of nursing.
Results: There were no significant differences in periodontal health indicators between the two groups before nursing (P>0.05).After nursing,
the improvement degrees of GI, PD, PLI and SBI in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group, and AL
did not increase further with a lower growth rate than the control group, with statistically significant differences between the groups (P<0.05).
Conclusion: Personalized oral care can improve the periodontal inflammatory state of patients with chronic periodontitis in a targeted manner,
effectively control dental plaque, delay the destruction of periodontal tissues and enhance the effect of oral hygiene maintenance, which has
important clinical application value.
