Analysis of Factors Influencing Marginal Fit of Full Crown Restorations
Abstract
related influencing factors. Methods:A total of 60 patients treated between June 2020 and June 2024. were retrospectively selected and ran
domly divided into control group (traditional lost-wax casting technique, n=30) and observation group (CAD/CAM fabricated crowns, n=30).
General demographic data including age, gender, and dental position were recorded. The marginal discrepancy, microleakage scores, and
restoration adaptation were compared between groups. Results: The observation group demonstrated significantly superior marginal fit com
pared to the control group (65.248.43 ?m vs 128.6515.32 ?m, t=18.76, p<0.001). Microleakage scores were lower in the observation group
(1.180.32 vs 2.840.51, t=14.92, p<0.001), while clinical adaptation scores were significantly higher (94.523.18 vs 85.344.12, t=9.64,
p<0.001). The success rate at 12-month follow-up was 96.7% in the observation group versus 83.3% in the control group (?=4.27, p<0.05).
Conclusion: CAD/CAM technology significantly improves the marginal fit of full crown restorations compared to conventional casting meth
ods, reducing microleakage and enhancing clinical performance, thereby warranting broader clinical application.
