Study on Factors Affecting the Short-Term Efficacy of Anti-VEGF Therapy for Diabetic Macular Edema
Abstract
Methods: Ninety-six patients treated from January 2023 to December 2024 were selected. According to visual acuity and central foveal thickness improvement after 3 months, they were divided into a good-response group and a control group, with 48 cases in each group. Clinical
indicators were compared, and influencing factors were analyzed. Results: The good-response group showed better improvement in best corrected visual acuity and greater reduction in central foveal thickness than the control group. Diabetes duration, HbA1c level, baseline visual
acuity, baseline central foveal thickness, and treatment compliance were related to efficacy. Conclusion: Anti-VEGF therapy can improve the
short-term prognosis of diabetic macular edema, but its efficacy is affected by systemic metabolism, fundus condition, and continuous followup. Individualized management should be strengthened.
