Exploration and Analysis of Identity Crisis among Chinese College EFL Teachers

Abstract


In the context of the new liberal arts, Chinese college EFL teachers have to face rounds of teaching reforms and varieties of teaching
changes, which may bring about huge impacts on the traditional college English teaching and the crisis in these teachers' professional identity.
Under such circumstance, this article reviews some notions and connotations of college EFL teachers' professional identity and identity crisis.
The article also tries to explore and analyze possible reasons for the occurrence of Chinese college EFL teachers' professional identity crisis
and try to provide some strategies to diminish or eliminate it.
