Research and Practice of a Blended Teaching Model for College English in the Context of Generative AI

Jun Liu

Abstract

With the gradual entry of generative AI into college English teaching, how to effectively combine it with online learning and classroom teaching has become a problem that needs attention in college English teaching practice. Based on the actual teaching needs, this study
takes college English writing teaching as the starting point, and designs and implements an online and offline mixed teaching mode. This
model connects generative AI assistance, online feedback, student revision, practical application and classroom evaluation. Based on the
teaching implementation process and specific student cases, this paper analyzes the actual operation of the model. The results show that the
model can provide students with personalized learning support, combined with online feedback and classroom evaluation. This study hopes to
provide practical reference for the development of college English blended teaching under the background of generative AI.
