Thoughts on Using New Media to Promote the Reform of Ideological and Political Education in Universities

Abstract


The development of new media has had a profound impact on the thinking patterns, lifestyle, and study habits of contemporary college students. Contemporary college students who have grown up with new media technology in the information age need innovative teaching
of ideological and political courses in universities to broaden their ideological and political horizons and enhance their critical thinking abilities. The rational utilization of new media can promote the breakthrough development of ideological and political education, effectively enhance the guiding ability of ideological and political courses in universities, enable students to have a stronger recognition of ideological and
political content, and promote the high-quality development of ideological and political education in universities. The scientific and rational
application of new media in the teaching of ideological and political courses in universities is an important issue in the current development of
higher education.
