Development Trend and Prospect of Private Institutions of Higher Education

Shuang You, Yuan Su, Yancheng Zhang, Juying Yi, Yuchen Tan*

Abstract

Private higher education holds an indispensable position in Chinas national higher education landscape. Currently, many private
institutions are transitioning from the start-up period to the flourishing period. Key tasks include leveraging flexible educational systems, optimizing human capital, and strengthening campus culture. However, challenges like extensive development models and lack of strategic vision
persist. Therefore, promoting a "conventional operation + strategic operation" approach, refining core values, adhering to strategic goals, and
providing institutional guarantees are crucial for achieving high-quality leapfrog development.
