A Practical Study on the Application of Rhetoric in Higher Vocational English Teaching: Taking the Text Barren Spring as an Example

Abstract


This study focuses on 200 freshmen (100 students each in the experimental and control groups) from the Pharmacy department,
Class of 2024 of Chuxiong Medical College. It thoroughly investigates the practical application of rhetoric in college English teaching.
Through a meticulous rhetorical analysis of the text Barren Spring, the significance of rhetoric in pedagogy is elucidated. Utilizing empirical research methodsincluding comprehensive teaching experiments, detailed questionnaires, and in-depth interviewsthis study
presents the current state of rhetoric application, identifies existing problems, evaluates the final outcomes, and proposes targeted improvement strategies.
