Abstract


This paper, from the perspective of comparative linguistics, systematically compares the relationship between English and Southwestern Mandarin in terms of phonetics, vocabulary, and grammar, aiming to reveal the commonalities and differences between English and
Southwestern Mandarin. The study finds that there are significant differences between English and Southwestern Mandarin in phonetics, vocabulary, and grammar. This research can serve as a valuable reference for English learners in dialect areas, contributing to the development
of intercultural awareness among language learners.
