The Design and Implementation of Ideological and Political Education within Economics Courses from the Perspective of the OBE Concept: A Case Study of the Course "Contemporary Chinese Economy"
Abstract
education institutions and advancing interdisciplinary reforms in ideological and political education have become essential requirements of the
times. As a core discipline within the social sciences, economics inherently contains abundant ideological and political educational resources.
Outcome-Based Education (OBE) is an educational philosophy that emphasizes designing the teaching and learning process around predefined, expected learning outcomes, which aligns closely with the implementation objectives of ideological and political education in economics courses. Therefore, guided by the OBE framework and centered on the three objectives of value cultivation, knowledge transmission, and
competence development, this paper uses the course "Contemporary Chinese Economy" as a case study. It investigates new approaches and
pathways for integrating ideological and political elements into economics education through the reconstruction of teaching objectives, the
design of curriculum content, the optimization of instructional strategies, and the enhancement of assessment mechanisms. This study aims to
provide a reference for promoting the synergy between professional education and ideological and political education, and for effectively implementing the fundamental educational mission of fostering virtue and cultivating talent by leveraging the ideological and political resources
embedded within the discipline of economics.
