Chinese Loanwords in Kazakh-- Taking Words of Daily Life as an Example

Abstract

In the process of speech communication, Kazakh has borrowed many Chinese words. The degree of word borrowing also develops from low to high, from shallow to deep and from non-assimilation to assimilation. In the process of communication between Kazakh and Han, some cultural words first entered Kazakh in the form of transliteration. Therefore, the progress and development of Kazakh cannot be separated from the entrance of Chinese loanwords. In the corresponding pronunciation and spelling rules, although some phonemes have been added and changed in Kazakh, and the way of phoneme combination has been transplanted, indicating it is by this way that some Chinese phonemes have been integrated into Kazakh spelling systems. In 1940, Kazak in this period adopted the characters based on the Cyrillic alphabet; in 1964, new Kazakh with 24 consonants and 9 vowels based on the Latin alphabet began to be used in China, but the new Kazakh has not been popularized, and now it is basically restored to the Arabic alphabet. The above study of the characteristics of the Han loanwords finds some language principles to be followed by the Kazakh. The research conclusion of this thesis has some implications for the re-understanding of the relationship between Kazakh and Chinese. Meanwhile and finds the powerful language empirical support for the increasing of national unity in our country.
