The Influence of Native Culture Social Media Platforms on the Acculturation of Chinese International Student
Abstract
acculturation widely. As one of the Chinese international students, I took advantage of the opportunity during my study in Australia and
conducted a survey among 30 Chinese students studying in the UK, Australia and New Zealand through methods such as literature review,
questionnaire survey and semi-structured interviews. The research looks at how using Chinese native social media (like WeChat and Rednote)
affects students' mental health, social life, and sense of identity. Results show these apps help fight loneliness and offer useful information, but
they can also make it harder to fit in with other cultures and language learning. It's a double-edged sword. Based on the data and the results
of interview analysis, the paper puts forward corresponding suggestions to provide theoretical references and practical assistance for Chinese
international students to better integrate into the countries where they study abroad.
