Abstract


This study examines the psychological development characteristics and needs of college freshmen during their adjustment period,
analyzing existing challenges in peer counseling mechanisms. Through three core dimensionsselection and cultivation, operational implementation, and support mechanismsthe research explores optimization pathways while demonstrating practical effectiveness through case
studies. The study aims to enhance the mental health education system for freshmen, improve the relevance and effectiveness of peer counseling, facilitate smoother adaptation, and promote their holistic development.
