The Current Situation and Value of Traditional Culture "Breaking the Circle" in the New Media Era

Yexin Zhang

Abstract

The advent of the new media era has profoundly transformed the landscape of information dissemination while presenting historic
opportunities for the inheritance and development of traditional culture. This study systematically investigates the current status, internal
motivations, and value realization of traditional culture's "breaking out of its original circle" in the new media environment. Through a combination of literature review and case analysis, the research reveals that traditional culture's cross-boundary dissemination primarily relies on
digital platforms, achieving breakthroughs by reshaping content, innovating formats, and adopting youth-oriented narratives. The findings
indicate that technological empowerment (such as AI and VR) and evolving audience demands are key drivers of this cultural crossover. Its
value manifests in two core dimensions: cultural significance and economic impact. The conclusion asserts that new media serves as a vital
arena for traditional culture to regain vitality in modern society.
