Application of Plant Resource Allocation in Urban Landscape

Junhua Yu

Abstract

As the core elements of urban public spaces, city squares serve multiple functions including civic recreation, social interaction, and
cultural presentation. Plant configuration plays a pivotal role in shaping square landscapes, enhancing spatial quality, and improving ecological environments. This study examines urban square landscapes, systematically outlining core principles for plant configuration (ecological
compatibility, functional priority, landscape harmony, and cultural preservation). It analyzes current issues in square plant design, such as
insufficient ecological considerations, functional-landscape disconnects, and weak cultural expression. The paper proposes four implementation strategies: ecological configuration, functional design, landscape-oriented creation, and regional integration. Through case studies, the
research demonstrates feasibility and aims to provide theoretical references and practical pathways for developing "ecological, functional,
aesthetically pleasing, and distinctive" urban square landscapes.
