The Value of Consolidating Cultural Subjectivity in the Digital Age

Wenyan Han

Abstract

This paper focuses on the issue of consolidating the subjectivity of Chinese culture in the digital age, arguing that cultural subjectivity constitutes the bedrock of national cultural roots and the fundamental underpinning of cultural confidence. Having waned under the impact
of Western civilization in modern times, consolidating this cultural subjectivity through the principle of upholding integrity and fostering innovation with the support of digital technologies has become a crucial task in the new era. The paper expounds that integrating fine traditional
Chinese culture into the digital environment exerts positive effects in three dimensions: enhancing public identity, boosting cultural confidence, and laying a solid foundation for moral cultivation. These effects are manifested in forging identity consensus, strengthening emotional
belonging, consolidating cultural stance, deepening cultural understanding, and providing ethical reference. Finally, the paper proposes that
we should leverage digital technologies to collect and disseminate cultural resources, draw strength from the national spirit, and gather national centripetal force, thereby fortifying the cultural foundation for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
