A Study on Strategies and Pathways for Empowering the Enhancement of Faculty Quality through Microlecture Development in Higher Education Institutions

Zhigang Li, Yue Ding, Jie He

Abstract

Against the backdrop of the digital transformation of education, microlecturescharacterized by precise focus and flexible, efficient deliveryhave gradually become an important instrument for teaching reform and faculty quality enhancement in higher education
institutions. Although notable progress has been made in microlecture development in Chinese universities, deficiencies remain in terms of
resource structure, teacher participation, depth of application, and institutional support, which constrain the full realization of their empowering effects. Grounded in the practical context of higher education teaching and learning, this study systematically examines the internal
mechanisms linking microlecture development with faculty quality enhancement, identifies the practical challenges faced by universities
in leveraging microlectures to empower faculty development, and, on this basis, proposes corresponding strategies and implementation
pathways. The study aims to provide reference and guidance for promoting the professionalization and digital transformation of faculty
development in higher education institutions.
