Jian Yu, Wen Huang, Xiao Wu*

Abstract

Against the backdrop of educational digital transformation, generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) offers a novel technical path
for the reform of primary and secondary school mathematics teaching. Taking Zhaoqings primary and secondary schools as the research ob
ject, this paper adopts questionnaire surveys and semi-structured interviews to analyze the practical characteristics of local mathematics teach
ing and the application foundation of GenAI, sort out the core needs of technology-empowered teaching, and dissect the problems in hard
ware, resources and personnel capabilities during implementation. Combined with regional educational characteristics, it proposes phased and
targeted practical strategies, aiming to provide practical references for the digital upgrading of mathematics teaching in Zhaoqing and similar
areas in western Guangdong, and promote the in-depth integration of GenAI and mathematics teaching.
