Research on the Risks of the "Information Cocoons" in the Intelligent Media Era and the Countermeasures of Ideological and Political Education

Nan Xiang

Abstract

In the intelligent media era, personalized information distribution, centered on algorithm-driven recommendations, brings conven
ience but also leads to the "information cocoons" effect, trapping users in closed information spaces constructed by their own preferences.
This phenomenon poses a severe challenge to the cognitive structure, value judgment, and identification with mainstream ideology among
university students. To effectively respond, ideological and political education must transform towards a "targeted education" model. Through
coordinated innovation in content, literacy cultivation, practical experience, and ecological governance, it can systematically dismantle the
constraints of these "cocoons" and guide the youth in establishing correct values.
