The Application and Practice of Peak Ball in University Sports Activities
Abstract
Pickleball, an emerging net-based small-ball sport that integrates the strengths of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, has emerged
as an effective solution to address challenges in university sports activitiesincluding homogenization, limited venue resources, and low
student participationdue to its low entry barrier, high entertainment value, and strong adaptability. Grounded in the context of the sportseducation integration strategy and the needs of university sports reform, this paper systematically analyzes the application value of pickleball
in university sports programs. Drawing on practical cases from Chinese universities, it explores innovative implementation pathways across
four dimensions: curriculum development, event organization, club establishment, and campus culture promotion. Addressing current issues
such as faculty shortages, venue constraints, and lack of standardized frameworks, the study proposes targeted support mechanisms, providing
theoretical insights and practical guidance for enriching sports activities, enhancing sports education quality, and fostering students' holistic
development.
