Digital Enablement of Li Brocade Teaching: Innovative Pathways and Applied Praxis for Spinning-Dyeing-Weaving-Embroidery Techniques in Higher Education

Abstract


The Li brocade techniques of spinning, dyeing, weaving and embroidery are inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the
Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, constituting a semiotic embodiment of Hainan's Li culture that embodies vernacular wisdom and
spiritual ethos. Higher education institutions are important bases for the protection and transmission of intangible cultural heritage, exerting
catalytic efficacy across the tripartite continuum of craft transmission, talent cultivation, and cultural dissemination. Grounding in higher education praxis, this study eschews theoretical abstraction to conduct archetypal case deconstruction, examining effective pathways and critical
considerations for applying digital tools to craft teaching, cultural dissemination, and practical activities to enhance Li brocade (SpinningDyeing-Weaving-Embroidery techniques) instructional quality and scaffold living transmission of ICH.
